The mikroBUS Adapter Board connects a MikroE Click board to a [Binho Supernova](/hardware/supernova/) or a [Binho Pulsar](/hardware/pulsar/). It works with more than 1,700 Click boards. Click boards are sold separately.

## What it supports

| Protocol | Notes |
| -------- | ----- |
| I3C | Supernova only. The Pulsar has no I3C. |
| I2C | Through the mikroBUS socket or the QWIIC connectors |
| SPI | A DIP switch assigns the INT and CS pins, so several SPI devices can be used |
| UART | Through the mikroBUS socket |

GPIO pins are available as needed.

## What is on the board

* A standard mikroBUS socket, with all 18 pins broken out to headers.
* QWIIC connectors that carry the I2C or I3C bus.
* A 2x15 IDC connector that links the board to the adapter's Multifunction Port.
* A DIP switch for the INT and CS pin assignment.

Up to 4 boards can be daisy-chained with the included cables.

## In the box

* mikroBUS Adapter Board
* 20 mm ribbon cable for daisy-chaining
* QWIIC-to-QWIIC cable for I2C and I3C connections

The Supernova and the Pulsar each include the 30-conductor ribbon cable for the 2x15 IDC connection.

## Connect it

1. Connect the adapter's Multifunction Port to the board's 2x15 IDC connector with the ribbon cable from the adapter's box.
2. Fit the Click board in the mikroBUS socket.
3. For an I2C or I3C Click board use the QWIIC connector instead.
4. Set the target voltage the Click board needs: [Target Voltage (VTARG)](/hardware/supernova/reference/#target-voltage-vtarg) for the Supernova, [Target Voltage (VTARG)](/hardware/pulsar/reference/#target-voltage-vtarg) for the Pulsar.

:::note
Check the Click board's supply voltage before switching the adapter's target voltage on.

## I3C Click boards

These Click boards have I3C-capable parts, so they work with the Supernova's I3C controller:
