# Connect a Device

> Connect a Binho adapter to the computer: USB class and drivers for each device, the one-time macOS and Linux steps, the cable, and how to check the device is detected.

Binho host adapters use driver classes built into Windows, macOS and Linux, so there is no driver to install:

| Adapter | USB class | Software |
| --------------- | -------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------- |
| Binho Supernova | HID, plus a USB serial port | Mission Control 3, PyCosmicSDK, CosmicSDK |
| Binho Pulsar | HID, plus a USB serial port | Mission Control 3, PyCosmicSDK, CosmicSDK |
| Binho Atira | HID, plus a USB vendor interface (CMSIS-DAP, SPI bulk) and a USB serial port | Mission Control 3, PyCosmicSDK, CosmicSDK, pyOCD |
| Binho Nova | USB serial port (CDC) | Mission Control 2, Nova SDK |

A few things to know:

* **macOS:** the first time an adapter is connected, macOS may ask to allow the accessory. Allow it.
* **Linux:** the current user needs permission to open the adapter. Follow [Solving USB Connection Issues on Linux](/support/troubleshooting/solving-usb-connection-issues-on-linux/) once.

## Cable and port

Use the supplied USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable to connect the adapter to the PC. Any USB port works; it does not need to be USB 3.0. The adapter is powered from USB.

Each device has its own setup guide: [Binho Supernova](/hardware/supernova/setup/), [Binho Pulsar](/hardware/pulsar/setup/), [Binho Atira](/hardware/atira/setup/) and [Binho Nova](/hardware/nova/setup/).

## Check that the computer sees the device

* **Supernova, Pulsar and Atira:** open [Mission Control 3](/software/mission-control/download-and-installation/), as a desktop app or in a Chromium browser at [mc3.binho.io](https://mc3.binho.io). Connected adapters appear under Connected Devices. From Python, use [PyCosmicSDK](https://binhollc.github.io/pycosmicsdk/getting-started.html).
* **Nova:** use Mission Control 2 or the [Nova SDK](/software/legacy/nova-sdk/). Mission Control 3 does not support the Nova.
