# System Requirements

> USB, operating system and Python requirements for the Binho Supernova, Pulsar, Atira and Nova, Mission Control 3 and PyCosmicSDK, plus driver and Linux notes.

## Hardware Connection

* A USB 2.0 port or newer. The supplied cable has a USB Type-A plug; any cable that fits the computer works.
* No driver to install. The **Binho Supernova**, the **Binho Pulsar** and the **Binho Atira** are USB HID devices. The **Binho Nova** is a USB CDC (virtual COM port) device.
* The Pulsar connects at USB High Speed (480 Mbps).
* **Large transfers (Supernova and Pulsar):** transfers above 1 KB use a second USB interface next to HID. Windows and macOS need no driver for it. On Linux, allow access as described in [Solving USB Connection Issues on Linux](/support/troubleshooting/solving-usb-connection-issues-on-linux/).

## Software

| Software | Windows | macOS | Linux |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Mission Control 3](/software/mission-control/download-and-installation/) desktop app | Windows 10 or later, x64 | Apple Silicon and Intel | x64 (AppImage, tested on Ubuntu 22.04 and Debian 12) |
| [PyCosmicSDK](https://pypi.org/project/pycosmicsdk/) (Python 3.10 to 3.14) | x64 | macOS 11 or later, Apple Silicon | x86_64, glibc 2.28 or later (for example Ubuntu 20.04 or later) |
| [CosmicSDK](https://binhollc.github.io/CosmicSDK/) (C/C++) | See the CosmicSDK documentation | | |

**Mission Control 3 web app** at [mc3.binho.io](https://mc3.binho.io/): a Chromium-based browser on a desktop computer (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Opera). The app uses WebHID and, for the Serial Terminal, Web Serial. Firefox and Safari do not support these. On Linux, the browser needs the same USB permissions as the desktop app.

:::note
PyCosmicSDK has no package for Intel Macs or for ARM Linux boards such as the Raspberry Pi, and Mission Control 3 has no ARM Linux build. On an Intel Mac, use Mission Control 3.

## Binho Nova (legacy)

The Nova works with any system that supports USB CDC devices, including Windows, macOS, Linux and single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi. Use it with Mission Control 2 and the Nova SDK.

**Binho Atira:** PyCosmicSDK 1.7.0 or later. On Linux, install the udev rule in [Binho Atira hardware setup](/hardware/atira/setup/#3-linux-udev-rule).
