# Software Releases

> Current Mission Control 3, PyCosmicSDK, CosmicSDK and firmware versions for Binho host adapters, and where to download each one.

Current software and firmware for Binho host adapters, and where to get each one.

| Goal | Use |
| --- | --- |
| Drive I2C, I3C, SPI or GPIO from a GUI, use a serial terminal, or program an EEPROM | [Mission Control 3](#mission-control-3) |
| Script a Supernova or Pulsar in Python | [PyCosmicSDK](#current-versions) |
| Build a C or C++ application (C#, Java and Python through the C API) | [CosmicSDK](#current-versions) |
| Update adapter firmware | [Updating Firmware](/guides/firmware-updates/) |
| Use a Binho Nova | [Legacy software](#legacy-software) |

## Mission Control 3

Mission Control 3 is Binho's app for the **Supernova** and the **Pulsar**. It has six tools: **I2C**, **I3C** (Supernova), **SPI**, **GPIO**, **Serial Terminal** and **Memory Programmer** (I2C and SPI EEPROMs). It also includes a simulated Supernova and Pulsar, to try every tool before the hardware arrives. See [Mission Control 3 Tools](/software/mission-control/tools/).

It comes in two forms with the same tools:

| | Web app | Desktop app |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Where | [mc3.binho.io](https://mc3.binho.io/) | [binho.io/test-measurement/mission-control-3](https://binho.io/test-measurement/mission-control-3/) |
| Install | None, no sign-up | Installer per platform |
| Platforms | Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Opera (desktop) | Windows x64, macOS (Apple Silicon or Intel), Linux x64 |
| Connects through | The browser's WebHID (and Web Serial for the Serial Terminal) | USB, directly |
| Updates | Every page load | Built-in updater, see below |
| Current version | Latest on page load | Latest from the download page |

### Web App

Open [mc3.binho.io](https://mc3.binho.io/) in Chrome, Edge or Opera, plug in the adapter and click **Pair Device**. Firefox and Safari support neither WebHID nor Web Serial: the app opens, but cannot connect to hardware.

### Desktop App

Download the installer from the [Mission Control 3 download page](https://binho.io/test-measurement/mission-control-3/download/) on binho.io:

| Platform | File | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Windows (x64) | `.exe` | Installs for all users; needs administrator rights. |
| macOS, Apple Silicon | `.dmg` (arm64) | Drag Mission Control 3 into Applications. |
| macOS, Intel | `.dmg` (x64) | Drag Mission Control 3 into Applications. |
| Linux (x64) | `.AppImage` | `chmod +x` the file, then run it. |

Install steps: [Download & Installation](/software/mission-control/download-and-installation/).

**Updates.** The desktop app checks for a new version about 3 seconds after it starts. When one is available, it asks before downloading. Once the download finishes, it offers to restart and install; if declined, the update installs the next time the app quits. To check by hand, open the **About** dialog and click **Check for Updates**.

:::note
**Linux**: the web app and the desktop app both need permission to open the adapter. Set up the `udev` rules in [Solving USB Connection Issues on Linux](/support/troubleshooting/solving-usb-connection-issues-on-linux/) first.

:::

:::caution
Keep the adapter on the latest firmware: see [Updating Firmware](/guides/firmware-updates/). Mission Control 3 does not update firmware itself.

## Current Versions

| Product | Version | Download | Documentation |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Supernova and Pulsar firmware | 4.6.1 | [Supernova `.afx`](https://cdn.binho.io/fw/supernova/4.6.1/supernova-app-4.6.1.afx) · [Pulsar `.afx`](https://cdn.binho.io/fw/pulsar/4.6.1/pulsar-app-4.6.1.afx) | [Updating Firmware](/guides/firmware-updates/) · [Release notes](/releases/firmware-release-notes/) |
| Mission Control 3 (desktop) | Latest | [binho.io](https://binho.io/test-measurement/mission-control-3/download/) | [Mission Control 3](/software/mission-control/) |
| PyCosmicSDK (Python) | 1.7.0 | [PyPI](https://pypi.org/project/pycosmicsdk/): `pip install pycosmicsdk` | [Docs](https://binhollc.github.io/pycosmicsdk/) · [Getting started](/software/pycosmicsdk/) · [Migration](https://binhollc.github.io/pycosmicsdk/migration.html) |
| CosmicSDK (C, C++) | 1.7.0 | [Installers and binaries](https://binhollc.github.io/CosmicSDK/getting_started/download_and_install.html) | [Docs](https://binhollc.github.io/CosmicSDK/) · [First steps](/software/cosmicsdk/) |

**PyCosmicSDK** runs on Python 3.10 to 3.14, with wheels for Windows x64, macOS on Apple Silicon and Linux x86_64. It replaces the legacy Python packages below; existing scripts can move by changing an import, see [Migrating to PyCosmicSDK](/software/pycosmicsdk/migrating-to-pycosmicsdk/).

**CosmicSDK** ships installers for Windows (x64 with MSVC or MinGW, x86 with MSVC) and binaries for Linux (x64, arm64) and macOS (Apple Silicon, Intel).

## Legacy Software

These packages still work but get no new features. Use them only for a Binho Nova, or for existing scripts not moved yet.

| Software | For | Get it |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Mission Control 2 | Binho Nova | [binho.io](https://binho.io/test-measurement/mission-control/) |
| binho (Python) | Binho Nova | [PyPI](https://pypi.org/project/binho/) · [Nova SDK](/software/legacy/nova-sdk/) |
| BMC C++ SDK | Nova, Supernova | [Installation](/software/legacy/c-sdk/installation/) |
| SupernovaController (Python) | Supernova, firmware 3.x | [PyPI](https://pypi.org/project/supernovacontroller/) |
| BinhoSupernova (Python) | Supernova | [PyPI](https://pypi.org/project/BinhoSupernova/) |
| BinhoPulsar (Python) | Pulsar | [PyPI](https://pypi.org/project/binhopulsar/) |

:::caution
Mission Control 2.16.1 and earlier do not work with Supernova or Pulsar firmware 4.x. Use Mission Control 3 for those adapters.
