# Mission Control 3 in the Browser

> Fix Mission Control 3 in the browser when it cannot see the adapter: supported browsers, pairing over WebHID and common causes.

[mc3.binho.io](https://mc3.binho.io) runs Mission Control 3 in the browser, with the same tools as the desktop app. The browser talks to the adapter directly over WebHID. This page covers what to check when the web app cannot see or use the adapter.

## Supported Browsers

Use a Chromium-based browser on a desktop computer: **Google Chrome** or **Microsoft Edge**. Firefox and Safari do not support WebHID, so they can open the page but cannot connect to an adapter. The simulated devices work in any browser.

## Pair the Adapter

The browser asks for permission once per adapter.

1. Plug the adapter in and open [mc3.binho.io](https://mc3.binho.io).
2. Click **Pair Device**.
3. In the browser's dialog, select the Supernova or Pulsar and click **Connect**.
4. Choose a tool. The adapter now appears in the tool's device selector; click **Connect** in the tool.

The browser remembers the permission for mc3.binho.io. To remove it in Chrome, click the site settings icon left of the address bar and reset the device permission.

## The Adapter Is Not in the Pairing Dialog

| Cause | Fix |
| ----- | --- |
| Another program or tab is using the adapter | Use one program at a time. Close the desktop app, other mc3.binho.io tabs and any Python scripts, then try again. |
| Linux: no `udev` rule installed | The browser needs permission to open the adapter, like any other program. Install the udev rule from [Solving USB Connection Issues on Linux](/support/troubleshooting/solving-usb-connection-issues-on-linux/), then unplug and replug the adapter. |
| The adapter is in its bootloader | It shows a USB drive named **SUPERNOVA** or **PULSAR**. See [Firmware and Bootloader](/support/troubleshooting/firmware-and-bootloader/). |
| Charge-only cable or a faulty port | Use a data cable, not a charge-only one, and try another port. |
| Firefox or Safari | Use Chrome or Edge. |

## The Connection Drops

* **Keep the tab open.** Closing or reloading the tab ends the connection. Reconnect from the tool after a reload.
* **Unplugging the adapter** disconnects every tool. Plug it back in; the browser keeps the pairing, so only **Connect** needs clicking again.
* **If the adapter stops answering**, see [Adapter Stops Responding](/support/troubleshooting/adapter-stops-responding/).

## The App Looks Out of Date

| Symptom | Cause | Fix |
| ------- | ----- | --- |
| The web app behaves like an older version, or a fixed bug is still there | The browser cached an old version | Hard refresh: **Ctrl+Shift+R** (**Cmd+Shift+R** on macOS). If that does not help, clear the site data for mc3.binho.io. |

## Firmware Updates

Mission Control 3 does not update adapter firmware. Use [dfu.binho.io](https://dfu.binho.io) in the same browser, or follow [Updating Firmware](/guides/firmware-updates/).
