PIC18-Q20 CNano Breakout

PIC18-Q20 CNano Breakout board

PIC18-Q20 CNano Breakout.

The PIC18F16Q20 Curiosity Nano I3C Target Demo Board is a breakout for Microchip’s PIC18F16Q20 Curiosity Nano evaluation board. It complements Microchip’s I3C Multi-Protocol Translator example project and demonstrates an I3C target on an 8-bit PIC microcontroller.

The PIC18F16Q20 is a target only, so a Binho Supernova is required as the I3C controller.

Product page and ordering on binho.io

  • Headers: all pins are on standard 2.54 mm headers.
  • Logic analyzer headers: on the I3C SCL and SDA signals.
  • External connections: for I2C target devices and a UART interface.
  • SPI flash: a W25Q64JV (64 Mbit) for the I3C-to-SPI translation demos.
  • Potentiometer: a rotary potentiometer for analog readings.
  • LEDs: for the I3C GPIO expander demo.
  1. Fit the PIC18F16Q20 Curiosity Nano on the board.
  2. Connect the board’s I3C bus to the Supernova’s I3C port.
  3. Load Microchip’s example project from the product page. It sets up the I3C target on the PIC.
  4. Open the Supernova in Mission Control 3 or PyCosmicSDK and scan the I3C bus.
