Binho Atira: Firmware
The firmware the Binho Atira needs, how to read the version on the probe, and which features depend on it.
Which firmware is needed
Section titled “Which firmware is needed”- The Atira needs Atira firmware 1.0 or newer. PyCosmicSDK and CosmicSDK refuse to open a probe with older firmware, and report that an update is needed (
UnsupportedFirmwareError). - Opening a device pack in Mission Control 3 needs Atira firmware 1.1 or later, with Mission Control 3 9.1 or later. See Install a device pack.
Check the firmware version
Section titled “Check the firmware version”With PyCosmicSDK 1.7.0 or newer installed, run steps 2 to 4 of Setup. The probe’s firmware version is printed by the “Identify the probe” step:
from pycosmicsdk import DebugProbe
with DebugProbe.open() as probe: info = probe.info print(f"Firmware: {info.fw_major}.{info.fw_minor}.{info.fw_patch}")What is not in firmware 1.0
Section titled “What is not in firmware 1.0”JTAG, RTT, SWO trace and UPDI are not available yet. See Not yet available.
Updating the firmware
Section titled “Updating the firmware”The Atira has its own bootloader, and the Linux udev rule in Setup already covers it. Step-by-step update instructions for the Atira are not published yet. If the probe runs firmware older than 1.0, or a newer version is needed, email [email protected] with the probe’s serial number.
